The Department of Environment and Climate Change NSW














The Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) is the NSW Government agency responsible for environmental, climate change, sustainability, natural resource and cultural heritage issues in NSW.

DECC funds a range of programs and initiatives that support business, state and local government, communities and households adopt sustainable practices.

High water users in the Sydney area have been required to prepare Water Savings Action Plans, with cost effective actions identified which will save more than 8.5 billions of litres of water and $15 million in water bills a year.

Residential rebates under the NSW Climate Change Fund for rainwater tanks and water efficient washing machines are saving 1.8 billion litres of water a year (to May 2009). Funded projects already underway for water conservation and recycling will save more than 16 billion litres of water a year.
